Who we Are

FYI, Laramie Pilates is hiring - if you are a Pilates or yoga instructor please email Meghan Lucas at hello@laramiepilates.com

Laramie Pilates had humble beginnings - a (lovely) basement on the north side of town with only one reformer and four clients. It grew within a couple years to four reformers, 200 active students, and an annual training program, all of which became the impetus for a bigger and more intentional space.

It couldn’t have become what it is today without you. The people.

We continue to expand not only our capacity but our community. We have a few more reformers and a few more classes. We also have many other traditional Pilates apparatuses and offer different styles of movement, meant for every single human being to uncover more of themselves.

We have a space for children to be if you can’t find care.

We have a fridge and pantry with food for anyone.

We have donation-based sessions and offer multiple discounts based on demographic struggles.

The truth is, YOU still make this what it is. You are everything here.

We dream of a communal ground, not just a fitness center. Please come as you are and bring the magic that only you can so we can continue to make more out of the same space and the same time, for years to come.

Founder - Meghan Lucas

Meghan has been teaching movement and self-awareness for going on 15 years. She has more than 8,000 teaching hours and well over 7,000 hours of education under her belt centered on classical Pilates, strength training, and yoga.

Her goal for most of her teaching career has been to bring everyone into the work. To show each individual who comes into her classes or her studio that there is something to be gained. Whether you want to be the strongest climber out in Vedauwoo or you simply want to stay comfortably living in your own home well into the future, she can show you *a* way.

She is a disabled veteran who served in multiple combat zones, a mother, and a self-proclaimed “athlete.” She doesn’t understand every experience but she can speak to a wealth of her own and knows what it is like to live in multiple iterations of a single body.

Belly Dance and Pilates Instructor - Aylin Carey

Aylin Carey is a certified belly dancer, instructor, and choreographer with a lifelong connection to the art of Raks Sharki. She was first introduced to belly dance at the age of five after moving to Türkiye, where the dance’s rich cultural roots became part of her early life. Thirteen years later, she began formal training under a Turkish and Egyptian dancer who passed on both technique and tradition. Upon earning her certification, Aylin was entrusted to continue teaching, marking the beginning of her professional journey.

Her first teaching role was at the community center on Incirlik Air Force Base, where she instructed military personnel. Since then, she has taught in a wide range of settings, including community colleges, universities, dance studios, and yoga spaces, while also performing at diverse venues. She is the founder of the Belly Dance Club, a recognized student organization at the University of Wyoming.

To deepen her ability to serve her students, Aylin has also earned certifications in 200-hour yoga instruction, Mat and Reformer Pilates, and Reiki Level I. Her dance style blends Turkish, Egyptian, and Romani (Gypsy) influences, with a strong emphasis on cultural awareness and respect.

Aylin believes that a strong foundation is essential, but that true dance lies in interpreting music through the body—an authentic, full expression of oneself. She welcomes students of all backgrounds with a simple philosophy: Come as you are, dance as you feel. Viewing belly dance as one of the most ancient and sacred art forms, she is committed to honoring and preserving its cultural integrity.
